Ilocos is located on the north west of Luzon. Ilocos is the birthplace of former Philippine President Ferdinand E. Marcos. Its ethnic population is Ilocano but also the Roman Catholic Church. The climate is very dry from December to April and very wet for the rest of the year. Ilocos can be reached by bus in about 10 hours driving from Manila depending on the traffic.



Laoag City, the capital city of Ilocos Norte and is located 463 kilometers north of Manila. The foothills of the Cordillera Central mountain range to the east, and the South China Sea to the west. Laoag means in Ilocano ‘The place of light or clarity’.



Vigan City is the capital city of Ilocos Sur. The name Vigan means "Biga", an  taro plant that grows along the banks of the Mestizo River. You can see precious remnants of old Spanish architecture throughout the center of the city. Vigan has an old european admosphere. Many museums you can find here and national heroes are born here. Vigan is one of the oldest Spanish colonial city in the Philippines.
